New Shoes To Cure February Blues

Ugh. So it's February and that can mean only one thing - Valentine's Day (oh and Pancake Day of course, which is considerably better.) If you're in a relationship this is probably something to look forward to, if however, you're all on your lonesome like me it's a bit of a kick in the face. But never fear, for I have the answer to all your woes; new shoes.

That's right, who needs a relationship when you've got a pair of beautiful shoes on your feet? And you only had to spend £17.99 to call them yours. Perfection.
Ok, ok I'll stop speaking in riddles and just show you what I'm rambling on about.
Aren't they pretty? These beauties (can you tell I'm a bit smitten?) are from New Look and I can totally justify buying them as they're for work - I swear!
They do have one teeny tiny downfall though...they hurt like hell. My ankles were destroyed but are now slowly on the mend and a bit of wearing the evil shoes in has certainly helped.

Anyway, at least plasters solve the aches and pains of blisters, the same can't be said for a broken heart!

A Very Belated Birthday Post

As I mentioned in my last post I turned nineteen recently, January 28th to be exact, but I've only just gotten round to posting about it. It's a slightly terrifying thought when I remember I only have one year left as a teenager - twenty sounds like an actual adult - however, I've never particularly enjoyed being a teenager that much so hopefully it just gets better from here!

Anyhoo, back to the birthday itself. I spent the entire day doing absolutely nada, nothing, zilch and it was perfection. Sometimes I think it's nice to have no plans and just take time out for yourself, maybe read a book or two. Things took a turn for the more lively later on in the evening, as I went out for a meal and cocktails with two friends.
What I wore:
Shirt - Urban Outfitters
Skirt - Asos
Shoes - New Look
I love this shirt; it was my bargain buy over the Christmas period - only £10. It's so pretty that I wanted it to be the main feature, so I kept the accessories to a minimum.
The meal was amazing and all the staff were lovely. They gave us dessert for free even though we didn't order any!
(I apologise for the picture quality, the food might have been lovely but the lighting was less so!)

All in all, I had a lovely day and so far being nineteen is turning out to be okay.

Some Purchases & A Few Presents For Good Measure

Well hello there! Despite my spending ban I have recently managed to acquire a few new bits and bobs... I don't know how it happened, I swear... They all just magically appeared one day...

Ugh. Okay, okay. I'm a terrible person who can't keep their purse shut for two seconds! I'll just go hang my head in the corner - but I think I'll share my purchases first 'cos that's far more fun.
Bag, £19.99 - New Look
Earrings, £2.99 - New Look
Make up bag, £14.50 - Jack Wills
Garnier Pure Deep Pore Wash, £2.65 - Boots
Simple Oil Balancing Moisturiser, £4.27 - Boots
Lounge shorts, £9.00 - Jack Wills
Thick knit tights, £2.50 - New Look
Close up of the shorts & their ridiculously cute pattern.
Jack Wills nail varnish in Orchid, £6.50
Barry M Gelly nail paint, £3.99
Earrings, £1.50 - Topshop
Ring, £1.50 - Topshop
Midi rings, gift - Topshop

So as you can see the midi rings were a gift, as was the Jack Wills nail varnish - because it was my 19th birthday on Monday! I mainly asked for donations towards my travelling fund, hence the lack of photos of presents, but I think I'll do a separate post on what I did and what I wore as soon as I can though. In case you were wondering, I received an O and an L because my name is Olivia but everyone either calls me Livi or Liv. Not because I have an affinity with the word Ol...
I love the lounge shorts which I thought were a bargain for £9.00 and speaking of bargains, how amazing are the earrings and ring for £1.50 each?! I love it when that happens. I am also looking forward to trying out the face wash and moisturiser as they sound ideal for my skin type so hopefully I'll have a positive review at some point.

I hope everybody is having a good February so far!
Now where's that corner...

Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes

Hello there! Before I put my reviewing hat on I should apologise for my lack of posts as of late; I have been super busy with work, not to mention a few exams here and there, but I'm back now and I'm ready to blog my socks off! So down to business...

A few months ago I decided to jump on the ombré bandwagon and put my hair through the perils of bleaching. Having once attempted to bleach my brunette hair at home to disastrous consequences (yellow and orange spots is not a good look) I thought it best to go to a hairdressers to get the job done. Unfortunately, they didn't quite achieve the all-over natural blonde I was hoping for - instead I was left with a few brassy streaks. I'd heard good things about Lee Stafford's Bleach Blonde shampoo and conditioner, which claims to knock out brassy, canary yellow tones, so thought I'd give it a go myself.

The shampoo is a dark purple which I found slightly alarming when I saw it wash down the drain for the first time but that's probably just me! It felt just like any other shampoo really - although it recommends you only use it once a week - however, it did make my hair feel a bit straw-like. This was remedied though as soon as I applied the conditioner which left my hair feeling tiptop and soft. They both have the same scent, which I'm led to believe runs through all Lee Stafford products though I'm not 100% sure. I wasn't overwhelmed by the scent to be honest - I could take it or leave it - but it left my barnet smelling clean and that's enough for me!

Now to the bare bones, does it do what is says on the tin? Well, no. At least not for me anyway. I used these products for several weeks and I saw no change in the tone of my blonde ends which was really disappointing. It might just be my hair as it can be very fickle but I was hoping for at least a slight improvement.

I'm now back to being a full on brunette and have resigned myself to the fact that I'm destined for a life of brown hair. Never will I be able to answer the question, do blondes have more fun? ..... Ok, now I'm just being dramatic.

Who knew there was so much to say about shampoo, eh?
Have any of you tried it out, if so, what did you think?
